For the first time, the Mizfits are hosting an interest meeting for all the lovely ladies itching to try out a real woman’s sport.

As we get ready for the next season, we normally host tryouts and conditioning opportunities for everyone. Despite the relaxed atmosphere, so many potential players and supporters are turned away because they don’t think they’re physically ready for the game or have enough knowledge to play. Now, your first introduction to the game will be in an airconditioned room with food and drinks!

During the two hour event, we’ll have a small slideshow presentation, prizes, and the opportunity to mix and mingle with current and former players. We’ll dive into a little bit of history about the Mizfits, the WFA, and women’s football. We’ll discuss some of the basics of football and get a football IQ refresher. We’ll even ask some fun trivia questions to give away prizes!

“We want anyone interested in playing to take a shot at it. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never done it or don’t think you can…you’d be surprised how much we still learn every time we hit the field and we’ve been playing for years. It’s really not as bad as it seems and I love every minute of this game” says third year player Jenika Watts.

The Mizfits are going to need more than players to capitalize on last years’ stand out season.  We’re always looking for sponsors and game day volunteers, but we’ll also be on the search for a few roles including: coaches, media team members, trainers, nutritionists, team manager, and more. If you think you’d like to join our team, whether it be for experience or fun, we welcome anyone to help!

We’ll host two meetings. The first will be held on August 31st at the Southeast Branch Library in Antioch, Tn at 12pm. The second will be held on September 7th at the 350 Pageant Ln, Clarksville, TN at 1pm. We hope to see as many people out there as possible, so bring the family and be ready for this season to get started the right way!
